Regarding the previous newsletter…
‘There are mind numbing “divinations” (her word, not my invention)…’
Should be DIVIGATIONS… a word that Thirkell created to describe Mrs. Morland’s (the writer of spy thrillers) meandering and impenetrable conversation style, which often left her friends and neighbors dazed, confused, going a little mad, but still, they adored her. As hopefully, you do me.
Regarding the name of the artist/shop—this one’s on me—it’s BRIGID not Brigis. The S and the D being so close together on the keyboard, it’s a common-though-usually-fixed-by-me-before-being-sent typo.
The newsletter in question, should you be reading your email latest first is:
Searching for my library card
This is a short one (okay—maybe not so short, lots of m-dashes and parentheticals… just sayin’), but one that will put a smile on your face (I hope.)
